Restoring Living Waters Through Science, Stewardship, and Measurable Action

Clean Rivers Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to restoring polluted freshwater, coastal, and ocean waters through science-guided deployment of environmentally responsible water restoration systems.

We work in the public interest — partnering with cities, universities, and technology innovators to deliver verifiable improvements in water quality, ecosystem health, and long-term environmental resilience.

This is not awareness alone.
It is measured restoration.

Our Mission

Clean Rivers Foundation exists to protect and restore water systems of all kinds — rivers, lakes, canals, estuaries, coastal zones, and ocean waters — where pollution, biological imbalance, and human activity have degraded natural function.

As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we operate exclusively for charitable, scientific, and educational purposes, advancing environmental protection through responsible deployment, independent evaluation, and transparent reporting of water restoration initiatives.

WHY WE EXIST

Across the world, waters may appear calm on the surface while suffering from:

  • Nutrient overload and biological imbalance

  • Pathogens and diffuse contamination

  • Oxygen depletion and dead zones

  • Accumulation of heavy metals, chemicals, and microplastics

Too often, solutions stop at temporary filtration or cleanup.

Clean Rivers Foundation exists to bridge the gap between innovation and implementation, ensuring that promising water restoration technologies are deployed responsibly, evaluated independently, and shared for the benefit of communities and ecosystems — not private gain.

WHAT WE DO
Science-Guided Deployments

We design and operate time-bound pilot deployments in polluted freshwater, coastal, and marine environments — including high-stress locations where water quality degradation is most severe.

These sites provide clear benchmarks for evaluating restoration effectiveness and long-term viability.

Independent Testing & Validation

Every deployment is paired with independent pre- and post-deployment testing, conducted in collaboration with universities, laboratories, and scientific advisors.

Our focus is evidence, not claims:

  • Water clarity and odor reduction

  • Pathogen and contaminant reduction

  • Oxygen restoration

  • Biological balance and recovery indicators

Findings are documented and shared to support informed decision-making by cities and institutions.

Ecosystem-First Restoration

We support restoration systems designed not only to clean water, but to create conditions for sustained ecological recovery — reducing the risk of repeated degradation cycles.

Our work prioritizes safety, compatibility, and long-term ecosystem health.

Education & Transparency

In furtherance of our nonprofit purpose, we advance public understanding of water restoration through:

  • Data-driven reporting

  • Scientific collaboration

  • Community and civic engagement

Transparency is foundational to trust.

OUR FLAGSHIP INITIATIVE: OASIS AQUABOTS

OASIS is a floating, self-contained water sanitation and restoration platform deployed and stewarded by Clean Rivers Foundation as part of our pilot and research initiatives.

The system integrates:

  • Ozone-based sterilization to rapidly reduce pathogens and biological contaminants

  • AquaChar, an advanced mineral–carbon hybrid sorbent that captures heavy metals, nutrients, and organic pollutants while supporting beneficial microbial communities

This staged approach prepares polluted waters for recovery rather than leaving them vulnerable to harmful recolonization.

OUR ROLE & PARTNERSHIPS

Clean Rivers Foundation does not manufacture or sell technology.

Our role is to serve as a public-interest steward, responsible for:

  • Deployment coordination

  • Ecological safety oversight

  • Independent evaluation

  • Public transparency

Technology & Engineering Partners
  • AquaChar — advanced mineral–carbon hybrid sorbent material

  • Applied6 Engineering — system engineering and fabrication

  • OASIS — integrated water sanitation and restoration system

These partnerships allow Clean Rivers Foundation to remain focused on its nonprofit mission: restoring waters responsibly and measurably.

Water Ripples
IMPACT VISION

Our work supports:

  • Public health — safer waters for communities

  • Environmental resilience — restored oxygen levels and biodiversity

  • Economic protection — safeguarding fisheries, tourism, and coastal value

  • Global replication — science-validated models other cities can adopt

While early initiatives focus on priority pilot locations, our mission is global.

COLLABORATE WITH US

Clean Rivers Foundation collaborates with:

  • Cities and municipalities

  • Universities and research institutions

  • Environmental organizations

  • Mission-aligned funders

We are not seeking endorsements.
We are building evidence-based models for restoring the world’s waters.

🌊 This is what community-centered water innovation looks like.

As AquaChar moves forward with plans for OASIS testing in Coral Gables, we’re proposing an approach that brings water innovation into the heart of the community — not behind closed doors, but in a visible, public setting.

By placing OASIS within the community, we’re able to do more than test technology.
We’re able to share the process, invite understanding, and build public trust as the work progresses.

As testing begins, we also anticipate partnering with educational institutions to support the next generation of scientists and environmental stewards — offering students and families a real-world view into how water science, renewable energy, and environmental care come together.

Just as importantly, this visibility creates space for real conversations with residents — answering questions about how OASIS works and how it interacts with the surrounding environment.

All of this is designed to happen alongside the ongoing testing and maintenance of the OASIS units, keeping the process open, transparent, and part of everyday community life.

We’re proud and honored to have the support of Coral Gables’ scientific, legislative, and civic communities as we move toward testing this one-of-a-kind technology in service of everyone — from the youngest to the oldest.

This isn’t about promotion.
It’s about service, trust, and shared responsibility.
